Olga Vicel rođena je 1949.god. u Sv.Petru u Šumi, Istra - Hrvatska. Samouka je to slikarica iz Kanfanara, čija je tehnika rada svileni konac na lanenom platnu. Baš ta tehnika rada zahtijeva veliku umješnost i strpljenje ali i talenat za predhodno iscrtavanje predložaka, koje raznobojnim svilenim koncem pretače u slike.

Preciznim pomicanjem lanenog platna rađaju se kažuni, ulike, ognjišća, boškarini, seoske korte, rascvijetale livade, mirisi i sjećanja djetinjstva u srcu Istre.

Baš tim sjećanjima i mirisima prošlosti vraća toplinu i vjeru te dostojanstvo ljudskoga života. Olga zapisuje koncem svoja rana sjećanja djetinjstva, oplemenjuje ih i instiktivno se oslanja na tradiciju pučke i intiutivno na tradiciju građanske primijenjene umjetnosti, radeći uvijek sa srcem.

Svilenim koncem stvara impresivnu mozaičnu cjelinu uz izuzetno dobar, urođeni smisao za kompoziciju, gdje poput istarskog suhozida stvara sliku svoga svijeta. U svom opusu autorica poklanja sliku Istre koje više nema i sjećanja na jedan potpuno jedinstven i impresivan način.

Svojim posebnim radom uspjela je izgraditi osebujan i prepoznatljiv stil, zahvaljujući kojem i znani prizori na njenim slikama zrače novim životom.

O Olginim slikama pisali su mnogi poznati likovni kritičari, akademici, profesori...kao npr. akademik Josip Bratulić, Josip Depolo, Gorka Ostojić Cvajner, Ivan Rabuzin, Daniel Načinović, prof. Drago Mandekić, Mirjan Rimanić i mnogi drugi.

Članica je Hrvatskog društva likovnih umjetnika Zagreb ( HDLU ), Društva naivnih likovnih umjetnika Zagreb, Udruženja likovnih i književnih stvaralaca Pula, Udruge za čuvanje i promicanje nasljeđa „ Dvegrajci „ Kanfanar...

Tokom svog dugogodišnjeg rada predstavila se je brojnim samostalnim i skupnim izložbama u Domovini i inozemstvu. Izlagala je diljem Istre te u Samoboru, Vrbovcu, Rijeci i Zagrebu u poznatoj galeriji „ Mirko Virius „. No najveći joj je uspjeh izlaganje na međunarodnoj izložbi  Voljeti Zemlju u Seulu ( Koreja ) 2000. godine.

Ukomponirani izvezeni istarski motivi Olge Vicel krasili su i haljinu hrvatske pobjednice Miss Universe.

Olga Vicel was born in 1949 in Sveti Petar u Šumi, Istria, Croatia, and is resident of Kanfanar. She is a self-taught painter whose technique is silk thread on linen. This technique requires great skill and patience, and also a talent for drawing preparatory patterns, which she then transforms into paintings.

With the skillful handling of the linen cloth there emerge “kazuni’( small Istrian stone huts), olive trees, fire places, Istrian oxen, village front yards, meadows full of flowers, fragrances and memories of the childhood in the heart of Istria.

To those very memories and fragrances of the past she restores the warmth, the faith and the dignity of the human life. With the thread Olga dots down the early memories of her youth, ennobles them and instinctively she relies on the tradition of the rural, and intuitively on the tradition of the urban applied art, all along working with her heart.

With the silk thread she creates impressive mosaic-like whole, with the exceptional, innate sense for composition, where, like an Istrian dry-stone wall, she creates the picture of her world. In her work Olga presents the picture of Istria that exists no more, and the remembrances, in a totally distinct and impressive way.

With her particular endeavor she succeeded to create a distinctive and recognizable style, thanks to which even the known scenes in her paintings radiate a new life.

Many well known art critics, academicians, professors wrote about Olga’s paintings… like academic dr. Josip Bratulic, Josip Depolo, Gorka Ostojis Cvajner, Ivan Rabuzin, Danijel Nacinovic, prof. Drago Mandekic, Mirjan Rimanic and others.

Olga is a member of the Croatian Society of visual artists Zagreb, also of the Society of the naïve visual artists Zagreb; she is a member of the Association of the visual and literary authors Pula, also of the Association for the preservation and promotion of the heritage “Dvegrajci” Kanfanar.

During her log-standing career Olga appeared at many exhibitions at home and abroad, independently or with other artists. She exhibited all across Istria, in Samobor, Vrbovac, Rijeka; in Zagreb in well known gallery “Mirko Virius”. Her greatest success tough was her exhibiting at the international exhibition “ To love the Earth” in Seul, Korea, in the year 2000.

Also Olga’s embroidered Istrian motifs adorned the gown of Ivana Paris, Miss Universe 2002. in far away Porto Rico.

Olga Vicel è nata nel 1949 a San Pietro in Selve, Istria - Croazia. È una pittrice autodidatta di  Canfanaro, che nelle sue opere applica la tecnica del filo di seta su tessuto di lino, forma artistica che richiede abilità e molto impegno, ma anche talento perché necessita di una  base disegnata sulla quale intrecciare i fili di seta variopinti per creare il quadro voluto.

Grazie a precisi movimenti del telo di lino nascono casite, olivi, focolari, buoi „boskarini“ cortili rurali, prati fioriti, profumi e ricordi dell'infanzia trascorsa nel cuore dell'Istria.

Sono proprio i ricordi e i profumi del passato a trasmettere calore, senso di fede e tutta la dignità dell'esistenza umana. Olga scrive i suoi primi ricordi dell'infanzia con il filo, li nobilita appoggiandosi istintivamente alle tradizioni popolari e intuitivamente a quelle dell'arte applicata urbana, lavorando sempre con il cuore.

Con il filo di seta crea un insieme mosaicato emozionante, grazie ad un senso per la composizione eccezionalmente profondo, innato e costruisce l'immagine del suo mondo come si fa con il tipico muricciolo a secco istriano. Con la sua opera l'autrice ci dona immagini dell'Istria e di ricordi che non esistono più, in modo unico nel suo genere, impressionante.

Grazie a questa sua tecnica particolare è riuscita a creare uno stile ricco e riconoscibile, che dona nuova vita ad immagini già ben note.

Sono numerosi i critici d'arte, gli artisti accademici e i professori che hanno scritto sui quadri di Olga, quali ad esempio l'accademico Josip Bratulić, Josip Depolo, Gorka Ostojić Cvajner, Ivan Rabuzin, Daniel Načinović, il prof. Drago Mandekić, Mirjan Rimanić e altri ancora.

Olga Vicel è membro dell'Associazione croata di artisti figurativi di Zagabria („HDLU“), della Società artisti naif di Zagabria, dell'Associazione degli artisti figurativi e letterari di Pola, dell'Associazione per la conservazione e la promozione del patrimonio „Dvegrajci“ di Canfanaro….

Durante la sua attività pluriennale ha esposto le sue opere in varie mostre personali e collettive, nel paese e all'estero: in quasi tutta l'Istria, a Samobor, Vrbovec, Fiume e a Zagabria nella famosa galleria „Mirko Virius“. Il successo maggiore è stata la presentazione dei suoi quadri alla mostra internazionale „Amare la terra“ di Seoul (Corea), nel 2000.

Alcuni motivi istriani creati da Olga Vicel hanno arricchito l'abito della vincitrice nazionale del concorso di Miss Universo 2002, nella lontana Porto Rico.

Olga Vicel, geboren im Jahr 1949 in Sv.Petar u Šumi, Istrien (Kroatien), ist eine autodidaktische Malerin aus Kanfanar, deren Arbeitstechnik aus Seidenfäden auf einer Leinwand besteht. Gerade diese Arbeitstechnik erfordert eine große Geschicklichkeit und Ausdauer, aber auch das Talent, die Vorlagen zuvor so auszuzeichnen, damit aus verschiedenfarbige Seidenfäden daraus Bilder werden.

Durch präzise Verschiebung der Leinwand entstehen dadurch typische Motive aus Istrien, wie Stein-Iglos, Olivenbäume, Feuerstätten, istrische Ochsen, Bauernhöfe, blühende Wiesen, die Gerüche und Erinnerungen an eine Kindheit im Herzen von Istrien erwecken.

Gerade durch diese Erinnerungen und Gerüche einer Vergangenheit, gibt sie die Wärme, den Glauben und die Würde des menschlichen Lebens zurück. Olga stellt mit dem Faden ihre frühen Erinnerungen an ihre Kindheit dar, verfeinert sie und stützt sich instiktiv auf die Tradition der volkstümlich, und intuitiv auf die Tradition der bürgerlich angewandten Kunst, indem sie stets mit dem Herzen arbeitet.

Mit dem Seidenfaden schafft sie ein impressives mosaikartiges Ganzes, bei einem außergwöhnlich guten, angeborenen Sinn für die Komposition, aus der sie, wie eine istrische Trockenmauer, das Bild ihrer Welt schafft. In ihrem Opus stellt die Autorin ein Bild von Istrien dar, das es nicht mehr gibt, und Erinnerungen auf eine vollkommen einzigartige und impressive Art.

Durch ihr besonderes Werk, ist es ihr gelungen, einen charakteristischen und unverkennbaren Stil aufzubauen, dem es zu verdanken ist, dass auch bekannte Szenen auf ihren Bildern ein neues Leben ausstrahlen.

Über Olgas Bilder schrieben viele bekannte Kunstkritiker, Gelehrte, Professoren ... wie bspw.der Gelehrte Josip Bratulić, Josip Depolo, Gorka Ostojić Cvajner, Ivan Rabuzin, Daniel Načinović, Prof. Drago Mandekić, Mirjan Rimanić und viele andere.

Sie ist Miglied der Kroatischen Gesellschaft der Kunstmaler Zagreb ("HDLU"), der Gesellschaft naiver Kunstmaler Zagreb, der Vereinigung von Kunst- und Buchautoren Pula, der Vereinigung zur Erhaltung und Förderung des Kulturerbes „Dvegrajci„ Kanfanar...

Im Laufe ihrer langjährigen Arbeit präsentierte sie sich auf zahlreichen eigenständigen und gemeinsamen Ausstellungen im Heimatland und im Ausland. Sie stellte in ganz Istrien sowie in Samobor, Vrbovec, Rijeka und Zagreb in der bekannten Galerie „Mirko Virius„ aus. Der größte Erfolg ihrer Ausstellungen  auf internationaler  Ebene war die Ausstellung „Voljeti Zemlju„ („Die Erde lieben“) in Seul ( Korea ) im Jahr 2000.

Eingebrachte gestickte istrische Motive von Olga Vicel verzierten auch das Kleid von Ivana Paris, der kroatischen Kanditatin für Miss Universe, im weit entfernten Puerto Rico im Jahr 2002.
